Painting the INSIDE of your front door

I love a fun color on front doors.
It has really caught on too.
When you drive around you so all sorts of fun colors on people front doors.
I have recently been seeing more and more people
painting the INSIDE of their front doors a fun color.
I painted mine last year and I LOVE IT!!!!!
It is {you guessed it} turquoise.
(you have seen glimpses of it when I shared pictured of my chevron painted entry here)
It makes me happy every time I see it.
It is a shot of color in an unexpected place.
And it is SOOOO easy to change!
A quick project that gives a lot of impact.
Not brave enough to paint the whole room a bold color who not try the door?!?!
Is the inside of your front door painted a fun color???
Would you ever consider it???
Shoot me an email with pictures of yours @ chores_chandeliers@htomail.com

Why I picked my Blog Name

I'm linking up again with Nebraska Bloggers Connect.
Kelsey from Keeping up with Kelsey and I are co-hosting another link-up.
It is…….
How did you pick your blog name

Chores and Chandeliers
How did I come up with this name?
Well I made a list of like 20 names,
I don’t remember most but a few of the other options were…
Farm Fabulous
Dusty Dirt Road
Random Ramblings from a Redhead
I finally decided Chores and Chandelier fit me well.
Why does it fit me???
Well, I love to do chores, be with the animals,
get my hands dirty on the farm, and dig into yard work.
I’m not afraid of hard work…..I actually REALLY enjoy it!!!!
I love the feeling of accomplishment after finishing a hard day of work.
I also love getting fixed up and heading out for supper after that hard day’s work.
This is where the chandeliers come into play.
I enjoy getting all dolled up!!!!!!
I’m a girly girl too.
I love makeup, hair, fashion, style.
But, I DON’T ALWAYS LOOK GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I also like my place to look good!
I'm always doing a project inside the house or outside on the farm.

I love the juxtaposition of Chores and Chandeliers.
I think it fits me well, for instance…..

I have chickens but the coop has pillars, shutters, and a wreath

My smelly horse barn has a red chandelier

My turquoise and glitter manicure has dirt under the nails.

I LOVE Jewelry and it is displayed on an old screen door.
(it looks so bare in this photo compared to now *blush*)

I have old beat up wood floors, but I painted them with a chevron stripe!

I can often be found dirty and sweaty cleaning up the barns in rubber boots.
But the boots are paisley :)

Planting Station

I made this planting station last year.
It has came in so handy.
I keep watering cans, hand garden tools, miracle grow, seeds,
weed sprays, and a lot more in there!

When we bought our house we had a lot of JUNK in the barns.
And some treasures hidden in them too.
Sometimes I was the only one who saw the treasure potential though :)
I grabbed 3 things from the barn.
A cabinet.
A table.
A head board (not pictured)
I simple screwed them all together to make THIS……
I threw some red paint on it and added a little decoration to “farm fabulous” it up.
Even outdoor practical pieces should be “farm fabulous”!!!
I did screw the birdhouses onto it
because there is no way the window would allow them to stay otherwise.
And speaking of wind….
I also learned the hard way that I needed to secure the planting station to the ground.
I pounded in a T-Post in and then secured one leg
of the planting station to the T-Post with wire
(and it worked, YAY)

My Top 5 reasons I LOVE Nebraska
5. 4 DIFFERENT seasons!
I like variety and you definitely find it in Nebraska.
We have EVERY extreme here.   I look forward to each upcoming season!

4. Huskers
I Love Baseball season and the Ladies Volleyball Team!
But there is NOTHING comparable to a Husker Football Game!
The tunnel walk gives me chills EVERY TIME!!!!

3. Good morals and values
Nebraska is far from perfect but I do appreciate that as a state we have good strong morals and values (especially in rural areas).

2. The variety of terrain
I've lived in a variety of places throughout the state and I love how the terrain varies from region to regon.
Grew up in North Central Nebraska.  It was relatively flat and SANDY.
Then I went to College at Wayne and it had a lot of rolling hills.
Then moved to Nebraska City (the home of arbor Day) and it has AMAZING trees EVERYWHERE!!!!
And now settled in Central Nebraska and we have the most beautiful canyons around my house!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!

1.How “small” Nebraska is.
Ok, it is not really small but it feels small.
You can’t go anywhere in the state without running into someone you know,
they know someone from your family, are related to and old college roommate,
best friend use to date someone from your hometown, etc :)

Tell us what you love about Nebraska (or your state).
