Nebraska Pride

I LOVE Nebraska and I am PROUD to call it home!
I've always loved Nebraska, I was never the one looking forward leave.
I consider myself lucky to appreciate where I live.
Yes Nebraska can be ultra conservative at times....heck so can I!
It is not the most diverse location, but it is HOME!!!!
I have recently started to connect with other Nebraska Bloggers through

I'm SUPER excited to co-host a BRAND NEW link-up party for our fellow Nebraska Bloggers
with Kelsey @ Keeping up with Kelsey
Monday April 22nd
The link-up is all about what a normal day in the "good life" state is about (to you).
Tell us about a typical day in Nebraska and SHOW PICTURES!!!!
I am excited to see how all up Nebraskans all over the state differ.
This is a great way to get to know each other better!!!!
Be sure to  link up with us on Monday.
We'll keep it open until Thursday to give you plenty of time to link up.

Outside Chalk Board

This is not a new project.
I actually did it last year but I wanted to share it with you all.
It was such a hit.
I painted a large piece of 1/2 inch AC plywood with chalk board paint.
(this is the brand I used but in BLACK)
I did 3 coats.  It goes on thick and dries quickly.
It was a fast project.
I then hung it on the back of the garage.
I also hung an iron plant holder next to it and I filled the terracotta pot with the chalk.
The girls love it.
(so do I, It makes a great photo prop)

Hand Painted bridal boots

A couple months ago my (now) Sister-in-Law asked me to paint her a pair of
boots to wear at her wedding.
I had came across a pair of old boots at a sale over the summer
which I had no use for them but the price was too good to pass up.
IN HER SIZE….Talk about meant to be!
They were solid black originally.
I painted them the same as I did on my turquoise hand painted boots.
You can click here and read about it.
The only thing I did different was I used a can of clear flat spray-paint
to seal them after they had dried.
I did 4 or 5 light coats over the WHOLE boot!
I didn’t want to chance any paint transferring onto her gown.
They were a lot of fun to do!!!
I even added their wedding date on the side on one ankle
and her new name on the inside of the other!

Even the groom wore his boots.

Actually the whole wedding party wore boots.
I LOVED IT!
I tried to wear pretty green shoes (OUCH) but I ended up in my boots for the dance.

Have you painted a pair of your boots after reading my hand painted boot post
I’ve had a few people tell me that they have but I’d LOVE to see pictures.
Please email me your pictures to chores_chandeliers@hotmail.com

wedding popcorn bar

This past weekend my baby brother got married.
It was a beautiful day!!!!
They looked so happy and in love!
The weather was perfect.
He married into a wonderful family (so did she).
The decorations turned out very nice.
I did not help with them, BUT I did get to set up the popcorn bar.
My sister and I did the popcorn bar and it turned out so cute!
(If I do say so myself)
We set it up on an old wooden spool
and used galvanized buckets and feed store scoops :)
We did 3 types of popcorn.
(Caramel corn, Kettle Corn, and Plain)
And 8 different kinds of seasonings.
(cinnamon and sugar, white cheddar, ranch, butter,
parmesan and garlic, popcorn salt, rosemary salt)
And 2 mix in options
(peanuts and m&m’s)
We used small white bags to fill.
They had an overall Birch tree theme through the reception (which was very neat!!!)
So we used some extra logs as risers and decoration on our popcorn bar.
It was a HUGE HIT!!!!!!!
Everyone enjoyed it and A LOT of popcorn was eaten.
